The fuel log is Fuelio's fuel tracking app and mileage calculator in one, and it's where the app started in 2011. It works as a gas tracker, a diesel tracker or a log for any other fuel. Enter the odometer reading and the fuel you bought, and Fuelio does the arithmetic.
Real fuel consumption
Fuelio uses the full-tank method: fill up to full twice and it knows exactly how much fuel the distance in between used. The basic math is fuel used divided by distance driven, so 300 miles on 10 gallons is 30 MPG.
Partial fill-ups count too: the fuel you added is included when you next fill up to full, so topping up doesn't spoil the figure. No full tank? Set the tank capacity and, when you log a partial fill-up, say roughly how full the tank was before or after. Fuelio treats it like a virtual full tank and still gives you a figure. Missed a fill-up? Mark it, and Fuelio skips that stretch instead of showing a wrong number. The guide on how to calculate MPG explains the method, and the FAQ explains why you need two full fill-ups. The cost per mile or kilometer shown for each fill-up uses the price of the fuel you actually burned, which was bought at the previous fill-up: see how Fuelio calculates it.
Your units
Show consumption in MPG, l/100 km, km/l and more, including kWh/100 km for electric cars and kg or m³ units for CNG. Track distance in miles or kilometers and fuel in liters, US or imperial gallons, kWh, kilograms or cubic meters.
Android
Driving abroad? Switch the distance and fuel unit right on the fill-up form.
Any fuel, including two tanks
Gasoline, diesel, ethanol, LPG, CNG, LNG, flex-fuel and electric are all supported. For a bi-fuel car (gasoline plus LPG or CNG), each fill-up goes to its own tank and gets its own consumption. Flex-fuel cars that take gasoline and ethanol in the same tank have their own fuel type. See how to track LPG consumption.
Faster entry
Save the station and location with each fill-up, record discounts and the time of day. With the receipt scanner you photograph the receipt and Fuelio fills in the price, amount and total; recognition runs on your phone, even offline*.
See all your fill-ups on a map. You can also save the local weather with each fill-up*, which helps explain why winter tanks look worse.
Your data
Everything is stored on your phone and you can export it to CSV at any time. There's no account to create. Back up to Dropbox or Google Drive on Android and to iCloud on iPhone.
